Groom Creek Fire District in cooperation with the Groom Creek Firewise Committee would like to invite all of our community members to our Annual Firewise Day to be held on Saturday May 27th starting at 10:30am. We will have representatives from the Prescott National Forest with their interactive “Fire Has A Role” trailer and our own GCFD personnel on hand to share information on such topics such as:
- Fire safety
- How to make your home FIREWISE
- How to receive a free FIREWISE assessment
- The current staffing levels and apparatus availability on the forest
- This years fire season forecast
After the presentations, we will be hosting a BBQ at the park across the street from the fire station. We will be serving burgers (conventional & plant-based), chips, and we will also have plenty of bottled water and soft drinks. There is no charge for this event, just bring your appetite and your interest in how to make our community more safe from wildfires.
