As of December 1, 2020, the Groom Creek Fire District will have had all of its newly expanded Board of Directors seated at their first meeting. In case you were unable to attend this historic occasion, allow us to introduce the new board to you, while we also thank them for stepping up to the needs of their community.
Eric Rodgers and Mike Valenza having just having been sworn in this last November/December. Tom Price and Jennifer Haslip have been on the Board since 2019 and Andy Nilsen has been serving on the Board since since 2018.
This Board is unique to the district in that they represent many of the diverse communities within our service area which not only includes Groom Creek proper, but also Pinehurst, and the communities of Spruce Mountain. This is a first for our district, to have this level of representation of our community and also marks an accomplishment of a goal set by our current Board Chairman Andy Nilsen when he took his seat as Chairman in May 2019.
