The overwhelming support from the Groom Creek community at last night’s Fire Board meeting was a testament to who we are. Many questions were raised and answered with as much detail as possible. I hope that you had a chance to ask your question, but if you did not then please email, call or come by.
We are waiting to hear back from a local bank about the possible conversion of our liability with the County into a lease-purchase debt that can be spread out over several years. I will update everyone as soon as I hear anything from them. in the meantime, we will continue our fundraising drive and should we get the bank financing we will use the donations to retire the debt as quickly as possible. I will update the website as soon as I hear anything.
We had several people ask how they could get involved and help. We have folks (thanks Dave and Shari Turbyfill) already helping with negotiating better prices for dumpsters and other Firewise efforts. There are many ways you can be involved. To stay informed, please subscribe to our website with you email address and look at the community based social website http://groomcreek.nextdoor.com There are many residents already using this service to stay up to date.
Thanks again,
Todd Bentley
